With Eltechs ExaGear Desktop you can run PC applications that are not compatible with ARM platform on your Raspberry Pi, Odroid and other ARM devices. ExaGear is a virtual machine that allows you to run Intel x86 applications on ARM device.  Simultaneously you can run native ARM applications on that ARM device. It is like QEMU but 5 times faster! You can even run Windows applications on your ARM Mini PC if you install Wine.

ExaGear is user friendly software with transparent operation so you don’t notice a difference between running x86 applications on x86-based or ARM-based platform. Use your favorite applications on ARM-based devices and overcome platform incompatibility.

Device support

You can run ExaGear Desktop on ARM-based Mini PCs with Linux such as Raspberry Pi (all models), ODROID, CubieBoard, Orange Pi, CuBox, Utilite, Jetson TK1, Wandboard, Banana Pi, PINE64 etc.

Application support

ExaGear allows you to run user space 32-bit Linux x86 applications. Also you can run 32-bit Windows applications using x86 Wine.

On Raspberry Pi 2 and Raspberry Pi 3 ExaGear Desktop supports hardware graphics acceleration. This feature significantly increases performance of graphics intensive x86 applications like PC games Counter Strike and Diablo II running with ExaGear on RPi 2 and RPi 3.

Performance

ExaGear is extremely fast! Running x86 applications on ARM delivers close to native run.

ExaGear is super scalable and does not impact parallelism of multi-threaded applications.

For benchmarking we used SysBench and GeoBenchmark. To view numbers click here.
